Surika Van Wyk is a skilled scientist with extensive experience in chemical engineering, currently serving as a Medior Scientist Innovator at TNO since November 2021. Prior to this role, Surika worked as an R&D Engineer at SCW Systems, focusing on the design and development of biomass pre-treatment and wastewater treatment units. Surika completed a PhD at the University of Twente, specializing in supercritical water desalination processes, and has a strong background as a doctoral researcher at Wetsus. Earlier academic experiences include teaching assistance roles while pursuing a Master’s degree at North West University and a graduation internship at Tenova, where Surika contributed to pre-feasibility studies for uranium mining. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's degree, a Master's degree, and a PhD in Chemical Engineering.
