Herman Bekman is a Senior Scientist and Project Leader at TNO, where expertise includes contamination control in lithography systems and research in integrated optic sensors using silicon motherboards and ZnO waveguide structures. Achievements include the development of a hybrid coupling technique between high contrast monomode waveguides and AlGaAs laser diode chips. Prior to this role, Herman Bekman was a PhD student at the University of Amsterdam, focusing on oxygen-related defects in semiconductor materials utilizing electron paramagnetic resonance techniques. Educational background includes a Master's degree in Experimental Physics from the University of Amsterdam, obtained between 1982 and 1986, and attendance at Waterlant College from 1976 to 1982.
