Jeffrey Balash has over 45 years of experience in the corporate finance and M&A space. Jeffrey began their career in 1976 as a Director for Avon Products, where they were the first MBA hired for an operating position. Jeffrey was responsible for the $100M+ Export and New Markets division and established two subsidiaries in Africa. From 1979 to 1985, they worked as a Managing Director for Lehman Brothers, where they were named partner in under five years. During this time, they specialized in corporate finance/M&A with a focus on private capital, complex situations and international transactions. From 1985 to 1991, they worked as a Managing Director for Drexel Burnham Lambert, where they were important in building the firm's reputation as the most innovative investment bank. In 1991, they co-founded the boutique private capital and financial advisory firm Anthem Partners LLC, where they completed an initial European acquisition by Staples and advised the Government of Micronesia on the acquisition of Air Micronesia from Continental Airlines. From 1992 to 2016, they were the Chief Executive Officer of Comstock Investors LLC, where they combined EQ and IQ to work with CEOs, private equity firms, and venture groups to scale their businesses. From 2016 to 2020, they served as an Advisory Board Member for LogicSource, Inc. and an Advisory Director for Thrio, Inc. In 2021, they became a Board Member/Audit Committee for EmployBridge, the nation's largest industrial staffing company.
Jeffrey Balash began their education at Bellarmine College Preparatory in 1962 and graduated in 1966. Jeffrey then attended Princeton University, where they obtained an AB in Economics in 1970. After Princeton, Balash attended Harvard Law School, where they obtained their JD in 1974. During this time, they were also admitted to Balliol College at the University of Oxford on an ESU Churchill Scholarship, but declined the offer to attend Harvard. Balash then attended Harvard Business School, where they obtained their MBA in Finance/Entrepreneurship in 1974. Since then, they have taken part in numerous Executive Education Programs at Harvard Business School, focusing on Agribusiness, Strategy, Finance, Organizational Design, Information Technology, and Global Macroeconomic. Additionally, they hold certifications as a Member of the NY Bar, Series 7, Series 63, and Financial Principal.
