James Philip is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the mining and financial sectors. Currently serving as Chief Operating Officer at Thor Explorations Ltd since 2016, James oversees operations for the company's flagship Segilola open pit gold mine in Nigeria. Prior to this role, James held the position of Executive Director in Mining & Metals at Standard Chartered Bank from 2004 to 2015, focusing on corporate advisory, capital raising, and risk management. Earlier experience includes working as an Executive in Corporate Finance at ANZ from 2000 to 2004, specializing in mergers and acquisitions as well as project finance advisory. James holds a Master of Engineering degree in Earth Resources & Environmental Engineering from Imperial College London, completed in 2000.
