Josh West has worked in the software engineering industry since 2005. Josh'sfirst job was as a Web & Design Intern at the Center for History and New Media (GMU) in 2005. Josh then worked as a Production Artist / Web Dev at Indigo Night Graphics in 2005. In 2006, they were a Senior Web Developer and Division Manager at TMI. From 2009 to 2020, they worked at The Atlantic as a Web Developer, Lead Developer, and Director of Product Engineering. Since 2020, they have been a Principal Software Engineer at 'nuffsaid.

Josh West attended the University of Virginia from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a BA in History with a minor in Psychology. In 2006, they studied Chinese History and Mandarin at East China Normal University.
