Isabella Alessandrini has extensive experience in medical affairs and research, currently serving as a Medical Affairs Manager at Theras since October 2015. Previous roles include Medical & Scientific Advisor and Clinical Support Specialist at the same organization. Between March 2013 and August 2015, Isabella worked as a Healthcare Scientist Specialist at Public Health England, focusing on the development of rapid point-of-care tests for viral diagnostics, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Isabella was also a Post-doc Researcher at Lund University from December 2010 to February 2013, engaging in research on the genetic manipulation of enzymes related to type II diabetes, and a Post-doc Scientist from November 2007 to December 2010, contributing to an international project for the automated detection of influenza viruses. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Molecular Immunology and Gene Therapy from the IRCCS National Institute of Oncology Foundation and a Master’s degree from ISTUD Business School. A University degree in Medical Biotechnology was obtained from the University of Bologna, supplemented by a high school background in Humanities.
