John D. Six, MD is Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and assumed his current position in 2019. He has been awarded the Certified Physician Executive (CPE) designation by the American College of Physician Executives. His primary responsibilities include being the administrative interface for the medical staff and managing the quality of care, safety, and clinical outcomes provided at Washington Health System. Dr. Six is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Washington Hospital. He was in private practice as a Family Physician with Claysville Family Practice for 13 years prior to assuming his current position. Dr. Six is a Board Member of the Bridges Health Partners Clinically Integrated Network (CIN), Past Chair of the Bridges Health Partners Care Model Committee, and Medical Director of the Greenbriar Treatment Center. Dr. Six is a past Medical Director and current Board Member of the Washington Physician Hospital Organization (WPHO) and Past President of the Washington County Medical Society. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) and the American Board of Preventative Medicine (ABPM) as a certified specialist in Addiction Medicine. Dr. Six received his MBA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) and Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a 2022 Baldrige Executive Fellow.
