Zak Koeske is an accomplished journalist with extensive experience in various reporting roles. Currently serving as a Projects Reporter and Government and Politics Reporter for The State Newspaper since September 2020, Koeske's prior positions include Reporter at Chicago Tribune Media Group, where coverage focused on education, politics, and policing, and Weekend Editor at Staten Island Advance, overseeing news assignments. Additional experience includes serving as Local Editor for multiple northern New Jersey Patch sites and freelancing for Pittsburgh Sports Report and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Koeske has a Master's in Journalism from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's in Biology, Psychology, and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh, alongside research experience at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.
