Alan Elliott is a highly skilled biodiversity conservation specialist currently serving as the Biodiversity Conservation Network Manager at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh since July 2019, focusing on the World Flora Online and the Global Conservation Consortium for Rhododendron. Previously, Alan engaged in various roles as a self-employed plant scientist and worked extensively at the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in research and project management related to biodiversity in the Middle East. Alan holds a PhD in Phylogeography and the Dynamics of Speciation in the Himalaya from The University of Edinburgh and a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture with Plantsmanship from the University of Glasgow.
