Job description

The Purple Guys’ business revolves around designing, managing, and supporting our clients’ systems technology infrastructure in support of their operational efficiency, business continuity, security, and financial success.  As the vCIO for our managed clients, you are responsible for managing the proactive service relationship and are the key client relationship manager, applying your technical expertise and business knowledge to assist our clients in achieving optimal technology solutions appropriate to their business objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ability to consult directly with clients and prospects regarding current environment and future initiatives

  • Achieves thorough understanding of The Purple Guys current systems, processes and needs to accomplish desired business outcomes that drive success.

  • Monitor and assist in the development of Customer Success Activities such as onboarding, QBRs and training materials and assets

  • Partners with CXO on process improvements related to the entire customer experience

  • Serves as an advocate for all thing’s customer (e.g. customer issues, product suggestions and needs, market positioning)

  • Is readily and regularly available to clients and internal The Purple Guys staff to diagnose and help consult on technology infrastructure issues and determine appropriate interim and/or long term solutions; assists other The Purple Guys staff with projects as an indirect participant, and lends expertise, as requested

  • Keep current on changes in service offerings based on emerging technologies in the industry

  • Maintains technical solutions and practices knowledge/expertise by learning new and evolving technologies, and by achieving/maintaining appropriate industry and professional certifications as identified by supervisor

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to translate or quickly learn to translate technical terms to business language for non-technical clients

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build effective The Purple Guys partnership across organization boundaries and to build strong customer relationships

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or related field preferred
  • MSP experience highly preferred
  • 5+ years of experience successfully designing and implementing network and systems architecture solutions required
  • MCSE, MCITP and other industry certifications (Cisco, etc.) highly preferred
  • Must have lead engineer/consultant skills, including deployment experience in two, and ideally three, of the following areas:
  • Routing, Switching and Wireless: Cisco, Brocade, Adtran, Meraki
  • Virtualization: VMWare vSphere, VMWare Horizon
  • Storage and Server: HP, Dell, EMC, or Cisco
  • Email and Web Security: IronPort ESA and WSA, Barracuda, Websense
  • Authentication and Authorization: MS Active Directory, LDAP, and PKI, RSA.
