Leigh Mills currently serves as the Head of Skills and Inclusion at The North East Combined Authority, a position held since May 2024. Previously, Mills was the Head of Inclusive Growth at the North of Tyne Combined Authority from March 2019 to May 2024 and worked as the Qualifications Team Manager at NCFE from June 2009 to December 2018. Earlier career experiences include roles as Branch Manager at NatWest Bank (2002-2009) and Enterprise Rent-A-Car (1999-2002). Mills holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology of Plants and Animals from Newcastle University, obtained between 1996 and 1999, and completed executive education at Hult Ashridge in 2015. Education was commenced at Duchess's High School in Alnwick, Northumberland, from 1991 to 1996.
