Paul Koigi

Paul Koigi has a diverse work experience in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Paul is currently working at The Nairobi Hospital as the Head of the Research Department and also serves as the Editor-in-Chief of The Nairobi Hospital Medical Journal. Prior to this, they worked as a Specialist Obstetrician & Gynecologist at the same hospital. Paul has also held the position of Deputy Editor-in-Chief at the Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology of East and Central Africa (JOGECA) under the Kenya Obstetrical and Gynaecological Society (KOGS). Paul has extensive experience as a researcher, having contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and participated in training other researchers in protocol and manuscript development. Paul has also worked as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Nairobi and as a part-time lecturer at Kenya Methodist University. Paul started their medical career as a Resident Medical Officer at Mbagathi District Hospital, where they served in the Departments of Obs/Gyn and Surgery.

Paul Koigi has a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from the University of Nairobi, completed in 2009. Paul then pursued a Master of Medicine in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (M.Med Obs/Gyn) at the University of Nairobi from 2012 to 2016. Paul also attained membership in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the East, Central and South Africa College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (ECSACOG) in 2019. Following this, they pursued a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Sexual and Reproductive Medicine at the University of South Wales from 2021 to 2022. Paul is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Anatomy at the University of Nairobi, which they are expected to complete in 2024. Additionally, Paul completed a Master of Science (MS) in Sexual and Reproductive Medicine at the University of South Wales from 2022 to 2023.
