Stephen McNair is a highly experienced professional in the fields of adult education and demographic research, currently serving as Vice-Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board for the EU Joint Programming Initiative on Demography since 2012. With a long-standing affiliation with the Learning & Work Institute, Stephen holds an "Emeritus" role as a Senior Research Fellow and previously led initiatives focused on older learners. Stephen's extensive career includes significant positions such as Head of the School of Education at the University of Surrey, Head of School at NHSU, and Director of Research at the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education. Additionally, Stephen has contributed as a consultant on age, work, and careers since 2002 and has been involved with various organizations, including the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and the UK Commission for Employment and Skills. Stephen's educational background includes a BA in English from the University of York.
