Vanessa Mendez

Director Of Outpatient Services at The Gooden Center

Vanessa Mendez, LMFT, has a comprehensive work experience in the mental health and addiction counseling field. Vanessa started their career in 2017 as an Intern at Social Model Recovery System, where they conducted screening interviews and made appropriate referrals for clients. Vanessa then worked as a Mental Health Case Manager/Chemical Dependency Counselor at The Gooden Center from January 2017 to November 2019. In this role, they provided direct clinical services to individuals and families and facilitated various therapy groups. Vanessa continued their journey at The Gooden Center as a Residential Therapist and House Director from November 2019 to February 2023. Vanessa worked closely with the treatment team, developed treatment plans for clients, and provided continuous support. In addition, Vanessa served as the Director of Outpatient Services at The Gooden Center from February 2023 onwards. Alongside these roles, they also worked as a Therapist at Brighter Future Psychological Services starting from May 2021 and as a Mental Health Clinician at McKinley Children's Center from January 2021 to August 2021. Throughout their career, Vanessa has gained extensive experience in addiction counseling, individual and family therapy, and program management.

Vanessa Mendez, LMFT has a comprehensive education history that includes earning a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University Graduate School of Education and Psychology, which they obtained from 2018 to 2020. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at California State University, Fullerton from 2016 to 2018. And before that, Vanessa completed an Associate of Arts in Psychology at East Los Angeles College, with an unspecified start year and completion in 2018.
