Florence Kiawa

Director Complaints, Investigations & Legal Services at The Commission on Administrative Justice (Office of the Ombudsman)

Florence Kiawa has worked in various legal and administrative roles throughout their career. FLORENCE started as a Senior State Counsel at The State Law Office in 2006, and later became a Senior Legal Officer at Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute (KIRDI) in 2013. In 2017, they were promoted to Corporation Secretary and Head of Legal Services at Kenya Industrial Research and Development Institute. Their most recent role is as the Director of Complaints, Investigations & Legal Services at The Commission on Administrative Justice Office of the Ombudsman in the Government of Kenya, which they took on in 2021.

Florence Kiawa completed their LLM degree in Public Finance & Financial Services Law from The University of Nairobi between 2010 and 2012. During the same period, they also attended Summit Institute of Professionals, where they pursued CPS(K) without completing a degree. In 2018, Florence enrolled in the Kenya School of Government for the Strategic Leadership Development Programme. It is not specified when they attended Precious Blood Secondary School in Kilungu or what field of study they pursued there.
