Dana Olson currently serves as the Director of Communications and Community Engagement for the City of Lake Forest since May 2021, after previously holding the role of Communications Manager. Olson’s experience includes working as Communications Manager at Grayslake Park District, overseeing public relations and media communications, and serving as Career Center Event/Communication Manager at Lake Forest College, where engagement strategies significantly increased student interaction. Earlier roles include Communications Associate at EnviroIssues, where Olson developed communication materials for public projects, and Outreach Coordinator at Earth Ministry, advocating for environmental legislation. Olson holds a B.A. in Sociology and English from Augustana College and an MPA in Local Government Administration from Northern Illinois University.
