Prasad completed their Secondary School Certificate at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School from 1972 to 1978, where they studied Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Following this, they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Mumbai between 1980 and 1983, specializing in Accountancy and Financial Management. In the same period, they also pursued a degree from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, earning the title of FCA and gaining knowledge in Accounting, Financial Management, Audit, and Taxation. Prasad furthered their education at The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1984-1985, acquiring an ACMA qualification with a focus on Management Accounting, Management Information Systems, and Financial Management.
