Raphael Costa has over seven years of professional experience in software engineering. In 2021, they began their current role as a Senior Software Engineer at Telnyx. From 2019 to 2021, they worked as a Software Engineer at Up Learn. From 2014 to 2019, they worked at Eficiência Fiscal, where they held the roles of CTO, Lead Software Engineer, and Software Engineer. In 2014, they also worked as a Software Engineer at CBK Software. During their time at Eficiência Fiscal, Raphael leveraged Elixir to make 650k daily requests to a highly unstable web service and handle 900k daily background jobs. Raphael also managed four developers and one project manager, and made strategic decisions about the product and the company overall future. At CBK Software, Raphael helped build the main app using AngularJS with a PHP API, wrote recurring tasks using Elixir, and built applications using Rails.

Raphael Costa obtained a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems from Centro Universitário Luterano de Ji-Paraná in 2016. In 2017, they obtained two Coursera Course Certificates in Programming Languages, Part A and Part B. In 2015, they obtained a Duolingo Fluency in English: Expert (estimated) certificate. In 2013, they obtained a Seminário EMPRETEC certificate from SEBRAE. In 2019, they completed a Course in Didactics for Higher Education from Faculdade Ciências Biomédicas de Cacoal.
