Edward Sawtelle

Chief Information Security Officer at TaskForce Red

Edward Sawtelle has extensive experience in the security and technology fields. Edward began their career in 2004 as a Department Manager for Walmart, where they were responsible for managing a 9 person department and scheduling, training, and mentoring staff. In 2005, they joined the US Army as a Ranger Squad Leader, where they were responsible for daily accountability of squad personnel, weapons, and equipment. In 2009, they became an Operations NCO for the 75th Ranger Regiment. In 2012, they began working as a Systems Administrator for the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer, performing on-site and remote technical support, helping to organize and inventory hardware and software resources, and maintaining excellent communication with the IT Manager. In 2014, Edward began working as a Senior Engineer for Haley Consulting, where they were the primary engineer trusted with communication between clients and technical staff, and was responsible for the smooth running of computer systems. In 2019, Edward became the Chief Information Security Officer for TaskForce Red, where they established IT security, governance and industry best practices for various industries and assisted clients with Business Continuity Plans and Disaster Recovery Plans. Most recently, in 2021, Edward began working as a Security Infrastructure Specialist (Senior) for TSYS, where they evaluate, tests, recommends, develops, coordinates, monitors, and maintains infrastructure security policies, procedures and systems, including hardware, firmware and software. Edward also identifies security risks and exposures, determines the causes of security violations, and suggests procedures to halt future incidents.

Edward Sawtelle has an education history of a Master of Applied Computer Science from Columbus State University from 2012 to 2015 and a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) from Troy University from 2009 to 2011. Edward also has additional certifications including Ec-council Certified Network Defender from EC-Council obtained in October 2020, CompTIA Security+ from CompTIA obtained in September 2020, and (ISC)2 Security CISSP (ISC2-CISSP) from (ISC)².
