Silja Berrocal has held various positions in the hospitality industry since 2002. Silja began their career as an Intern in Events & Banquets at Hotel Bayerischer Hof M\u00fcnchen and Hotel Oro Verde Guayaquil in 2003. Silja then worked at Macchiavello Tours as a Receptive Tourism in 2003 and Hilton Hotels & Resorts as a Food and Beverage Management Trainee in 2006. In 2007, they were an International Hostess & Crew Coordinator at Cunard Line. In 2009, they were an Assistant Sales Manager at Berrocal & Claro Ltda. and in 2010, they were a VIP Lounge Agent at LAN Airlines. From 2015 to 2016, Silja worked as a Sales Coordinator at SIXTY Hotels and from 2016 to 2022, they were an Account Executive and Lead Account Executive at Loews Hotels & Co. Currently, they are a Lead Account Executive at Tambourine: technology and creativity for hotels and resorts.
Silja Berrocal has a diverse educational background, beginning with their elementary and high school studies at German Humboldt School from 1988 to 2000, where they obtained a degree in Social Studies and Communications. Silja then attended Jefferson International College Guayaquil from 2000 to 2002 and obtained an Associate in Science in Tourism Management. In 2004, they attended Fritz Gabler Hotel Management School Heidelberg and obtained a State-Certified Hotel Administration Expert degree. In 2018, they attended Miami Ad School (M.AD School) and obtained a Social Media Strategist degree. In 2020, they attended Florida Atlantic University and obtained a Certificate in Digital Marketing and a Hospitality and Tourism Management degree. Finally, in 2022, they attended HSMAI and obtained a Hotel Digital Marketing Essentials (HDME) degree. Additionally, they obtained a Facebook Blueprint certification from Facebook in April 2018.
