Jeffrey Hoffman started their work experience as a Test Engineer at Newport News Shipbuilding in 1984, where they were responsible for supervising and performing acceptance testing and repairs of shipboard nuclear systems. From 1990 to 1991, they worked as a Summer Intern at Union Carbide, where they tested and modified PLC software and developed an Expert System to aid the implementation of a new control system design standard for the chemical industry. From 1993 to 2000, Hoffman held the position of Senior Field Engineer at Emerson Process Management Power and Water Solutions, where they traveled and serviced the WDFP DCS. Most recently, they have been working at Talen Energy since 2000 as a Principal Controls Engineer, specializing in control system engineering, project management, programming, and tuning of control logic. Jeffrey also has experience as an OSI PI Server Administrator and worked with vendors to implement improvements for the Burner Management System to comply with code requirements.
Jeffrey Hoffman earned their Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from West Virginia University Institute of Technology in 1982. Jeffrey then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Engineering Technology from the same institution between 1982 and 1984. Later, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Control Systems Engineering, which they completed at West Virginia University Institute of Technology from 1990 to 1992.
