Alissa Burmeister is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in program management and curation. Since September 2014, Alissa has served as a Principal and Head of the Program Management Team at SYPartners, where Alissa has held various roles including Program Director and Senior Program Manager. Prior to SYPartners, Alissa worked as a Program Curator at Goethe-Institut New York from February 2013 to November 2014. Alissa's background also includes significant roles at the American Academy in Berlin from September 2008 to June 2012, where Alissa managed fellows selection and served as Chief of Staff as well as Managing Editor of the Berlin Journal. Earlier experiences include positions as a Residential Community Life Officer at Bard College Berlin and a Fulbright Fellow at the Fulbright Commission. Alissa began academic contributions as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the University of Iowa Department of German. Alissa’s education spans several institutions including the University of Iowa, Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg, Freie Universität Berlin, and Technische Universität Dresden.
