Scott McIntyre started their work experience in 1993 at Great Plains Software as a Senior Software Engineer. Scott worked there until 2001 when they moved to Microsoft, where they also served as a Senior Software Engineer. In 2020, they joined Symmetry Software as a Senior Software Engineer and continues to hold that role.

Scott McIntyre has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Jamestown. Scott also holds a Master of Software Engineering degree from North Dakota State University. Additionally, Scott has obtained several certifications from Microsoft, including Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD), Microsoft Certified Application Developer (MCAD), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE). In 2012, they obtained the Competent Communicator certification from Toastmasters International.
