Derek Lang

Vice President Customer Service at Swisslog Healthcare

Derek Lang has a diverse work experience encompassing various roles and responsibilities in different companies. Derek began their career as a Dimensional Engineer II at Precision Castparts in 1996 and later worked as a Facility Engineer II/Maintenance Manager at Alcatel Submarine Networks. At Alcatel, Derek managed a team of millwrights and electricians, implemented a maintenance program, and led plant improvement projects. Derek then worked as a Manufacturing Engineer at FEI Company, where they focused on process improvements and collaborated with other departments. Derek also served as a Quality Intern at GE before joining AWESCO as the Director of Operations, overseeing all operational activities and personnel. Later, they joined Target and held positions such as Facility Operations Group Leader, Process Owner, and Senior Equipment Engineer. In 2013, Derek joined Swisslog and held various roles, including Director Key Accounts Operations - Customer Support, Director of Sales, Customer Service, and currently serves as the Vice President Customer Service. In these roles, Derek managed customer service operations, project teams, and on-site maintenance and support for clients across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Derek has extensive experience in automation equipment maintenance, project execution, and customer service management.

Derek Lang received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1995. Derek then pursued an MBA in Operations Management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute - The Lally School of Management, completing it in 2003.
