Jennifer Baure Smith has a strong background in the biopharmaceutical industry, with experience in various research roles. Jennifer currently works at Sutro Biopharma, Inc. where they started as a Research Associate in August 2016. Jennifer was promoted to Senior Research Associate in September 2018 and then to Associate Scientist in March 2021.

Prior to joining Sutro Biopharma, Jennifer worked as a Research Associate on a contract basis at Pfizer from February 2016 to August 2016. Before that, they were a Research Assistant on a contract basis at Threshold Pharmaceuticals from September 2015 to December 2015.

Jennifer's early career started at the University of California, San Francisco in November 2004, where they worked as a Staff Research Associate I until December 2005. Jennifer then advanced to the position of Staff Research Associate II from December 2005 to July 2013.

Jennifer Baure Smith earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Genetics from the University of California, Davis, where they studied from 2000 to 2004. Jennifer then pursued further education at the University of California, Berkeley, specializing in Molecular and Cell Biology from 2008 to 2009. Jennifer did not obtain a degree from UC Berkeley.
