Peter Smibert currently serves as the Vice President of Biology at 10x Genomics, a position held since December 2021. Prior to this role, Peter was Vice President of Functional Genomics at Immunai from February to October 2021. Peter's extensive experience includes serving as Director at the New York Genome Center from January 2015 to February 2021, with previous positions such as Senior Manager, Manager of Technology Innovation, and Senior Research Scientist. Additionally, Peter worked as a Senior Scientist at the Center for Personalized Cancer Therapeutics from October 2013 to December 2014, and has held research fellow positions at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Peter began an academic career as a Teaching Fellow at Gerstner Sloan-Kettering Graduate School and has research experience from the Australian National University. Peter possesses a PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology from The Australian National University and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biomedical Science, Genetics, and Molecular Biology from the University of Adelaide.
