Peter Hall has worked in the software engineering industry since 1990. Peter began their career as a Strategic Applications Engineer at Inmos/SGS Thomson. Peter then moved to Active Imaging in 1994 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were the Software Architect for the company's next-generation digital video acquisition, storage and transmission system. In 1998, they joined Navic Networks as a Principal Software Engineer, where they architected the network protocols and embedded firmware components of Navic's 'HyperGate' set-to-box management and control middleware. In 2002, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Digital Communications Technologies Limited, where they were responsible for the design and development of the Java virtual machine to support the company's Java hardware acceleration technology for the ARM7 and ARM9 platforms. In 2004, they worked at SunCorp Applied Research Limited as a Lead Software Engineer, and at NDS Limited as a Software Team Leader. From 2007 to 2017, they worked at Aptina Imaging as a Senior Member Technical Staff, where they were the firmware lead and architect for a number of advanced CMOS image sensor and companion chip image processing products. From 2013 to 2017, they worked at Micron Technology as a Senior Member Technical Staff, where they led the specification, design, development, and verification of the HMC firmware across a 15-man team. Since 2022, they have worked at Sunswap as a Lead Embedded Software Engineer.
Peter Hall attended Cheltenham Bournside from 1980 to 1987 and then went on to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Reading from 1987 to 1990. Peter also holds four certifications from LinkedIn, obtained in October 2016, including Foundations of Programming: Object-Oriented Design, Foundations of Programming: Refactoring Code, Foundations of Programming: Test-Driven Development, and Techniques for Developing Secure Software.
