Erick Chévez has a diverse work experience in the field of design and consultancy. In 2013, they started as a Design Intern at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Erick then worked as a Visual Designer at Brandchitects for a few months in 2014. Later that year, they co-founded The Lab Studio, a full-stack design firm, where they currently serve as the Creative Director. In 2018, Erick also founded VUO, where they offer startup design consultancy services, helping pre-seed startups create prototypes and secure funding. In 2022, Erick joined Streamdal as the Head of Design, leading the design team in the development of Streaming Data Performance Monitoring (SDPM) for data, platform, and SRE teams.
Erick Chévez attended the Escuela Superior de EconomÃa y Negocios from 2009 to 2012, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Juridical Sciences. Following this, they enrolled at the Escuela de Comunicación Mónica Herrera from 2012 to 2016, focusing on a Bachelor's degree in Strategic Design. In addition to their formal education, Erick obtained several certifications from lynda.com in August 2015, including "Project Management Fundamentals," "Project Management Simplified," "Running a Design Business: Creative Briefs," "Running a Design Business: Designer-Client Agreements," "Running a Design Business: Pricing and Estimating," "Sales Fundamentals," and "The Science of Sales."
