Carla Anene has over 30 years of work experience in the insurance industry. Carla began their career in 1990 as a Claims Adjuster at State Compensation Insurance Fund. After two years, they joined Claims Technical Services as a Claims Adjuster. In 1996, Carla became an Associate Attorney at Armstrong & North. Carla then transitioned to Liberty Mutual Insurance in 1997, working as a Staff Counsel for three years. Carla returned to State Compensation Insurance Fund in 2001 as a Staff Counsel, and gradually advanced through various roles including Assistant Chief Counsel, Deputy Chief Counsel, Chief Counsel, and most recently, Executive V.P. of Corporate Claims in July 2022. Throughout their career, Carla has demonstrated expertise in claims management and legal counsel within the insurance sector.

Carla Anene has a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). Carla also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the University of California, Berkeley. In addition, Carla has obtained certifications in Developing Executive Presence, High-Stakes Communication, and Transformational Leadership from LinkedIn in the year 2020.
