Nathan Hofer has a diverse work experience spanning various organizations and roles. Nathan is currently the Director of Community Impact at South Dakota Public Broadcasting. In addition, they are the Leadership Dynamics Coach and Founder of beplanted, where they help individuals develop leadership skills and foster organizational growth.

Prior to these positions, Hofer served as the Director of Campus Operations at Lost&Found, overseeing program strategy and expanding the organization's reach. Nathan also worked as a Regional Director at Lost&Found and as a Membership Coordinator at Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc., where they attracted new members and organized business seminars.

Hofer has experience in the education sector as well. Nathan served as the Northern Plains Regional Conference Program Chair and Educational & Professional Development Coordinator at the National Association for Campus Activities. At the University of Sioux Falls, they were the Director of Student Activities and played a key role in increasing student engagement and retention. Nathan was also the Assistant Director of Student Services - Programming at The University of South Dakota, where they supervised various programming initiatives.

Earlier in their career, Hofer held positions such as Summer Program Director at Swan Lake Christian Camp, Director of Student Activities and Resident Director at Dakota Wesleyan University, and Interim Director of Upward Bound and Graduate Assistant for the College of General Studies at South Dakota State University.

Nathan Hofer pursued their education at South Dakota State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from 2005 to 2009.
