Beathe Furenes has extensive experience in engineering and model development, currently working at Skagerak Energi as an Engineer specializing in hydrology and model development since January 2012. Responsibilities include developing models for inflow forecasting and implementing Model Predictive Control for flood gates in reservoirs for hydropower plants. Previously, Furenes served as a Senior Project Engineer at Prediktor AS and a PhD research fellow at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), where the focus was on Model Based Control of Metal Solidification. Early career roles include Development Engineer at Thales Communications and Project Engineer at Siemens in the Oil and Gas Division. Furenes holds a PhD in Engineering Cybernetics from NTNU, along with a Master's degree in the same field, and has military experience as a section leader in the Norwegian Armed Forces.
