Kolja Brockmann is an experienced researcher and consultant specializing in export control, non-proliferation, and technology governance. Currently serving as an Independent Consultant at Brockmann Non-Proliferation Research and Consulting since January 2023, Kolja has also contributed to SIPRI since April 2017 in various roles, including Senior Researcher, focusing on multilateral export control regimes, emerging technologies, and post-shipment controls. Previous positions include Researcher and Research Assistant at SIPRI, where Kolja addressed issues related to dual-use technologies and compliance programs. An internship at the Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control in early 2017 provided foundational experience in legal and outreach aspects of export control. Kolja holds a Master of Arts in Non-Proliferation and International Security from King's College London and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Affairs from the University of Groningen, complemented by an exchange semester at Yonsei University.
