Mikael Ekman is an experienced legal professional with a solid background in international law, human rights, and environmental policy. Currently serving as a board member at Sigtunastiftelsen Hotell & Konferens since January 2014, Mikael has also held positions as a Senior Legal Adviser at Civil Rights Defenders and ILAC International Legal Assistance Consortium, leading various legal initiatives and international projects. Previous roles include Political Adviser at the Swedish Ministry of Environment, where work focused on climate change and human rights, as well as positions within the European Parliament and the Special Court for Sierra Leone, contributing to legal research and defense preparations. Mikael holds a Jur. kand. (LL.M.) degree from Lund University.
