Joan Walker is a seasoned environmental advocate with extensive experience in campaign management and grassroots organizing. Currently serving as a Senior Campaign Representative at Sierra Club since June 2017, Joan previously worked as a Campaigns Director at MountainTrue, where initiatives included the Asheville Beyond Coal Campaign. Additional roles include High Risk Energy Coordinator at Southern Alliance for Clean Energy and Community Education & Relations Specialist at North Carolina Sustainable Energy Association. Joan has a strong academic background with a Master of Arts in Geography from Appalachian State University and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from UNC Asheville. Throughout the career, Joan has focused on energy efficiency, renewable energy, and community engagement, contributing to various environmental programs and initiatives.
