Mairead Carr is an experienced educator and community engagement leader currently serving as an Adjunct Lecturer at Siena College and as the Assistant Director at the Center for Academic Community Engagement. In the role of Director of Nonprofit Excellence and Transformation (NExT), Mairead leads curriculum development, instructs courses, and supervises student research teams while fostering partnerships with community organizations. Previous experience includes teaching sociology at the University at Albany, managing Summer AmeriCorps Members, and contributing to various internships focused on gender, social justice, and community service. Mairead holds a PhD in Sociology from the University at Albany and dual Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and English & Philosophy, respectively.
