Liya Guo is an Associate Professor at Shanghai University since September 2020, previously serving as a Research Associate at Imperial College London from January 2017 to December 2019, and as a Higher Research Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory from August 2015 to December 2016. Research activities focus on the impact of near-surface conditions on the early stages of crack development from corrosion pits, as well as conducting electrochemical tests to support model development for steam turbine applications. Liya Guo holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Atmospheric Corrosion and a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Materials Science from the University of Birmingham, along with a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Macromolecular Materials and Engineering from Fudan University.
