Tong Shi has extensive experience in data science and mathematics. They started their career as a Credit Strategy Intern at Sezzle in 2021. They later joined the University of Minnesota in 2018 as a Ph.D. Student and Graduate Teaching Assistant, specializing in partial differential equations and applied mathematics with a minor in computer science. Tong also served as a Graduate Course Instructor from June 2020 to December 2021. Currently, Tong is working as a Senior Data Scientist at Sezzle, where they apply machine learning models to predict customer credit performance and contribute to data processing and modeling for internal decision-making.

Tong Shi's education history begins in 2012 when they enrolled in Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 2016.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Tong Shi then attended the University of Minnesota from 2016 to 2018, where they obtained a Master's degree in Financial Mathematics.

Continuing their education at the University of Minnesota, Tong Shi pursued a Master of Science degree in Mathematics from 2018 to 2021.

Following their Master's degree, Tong Shi continued their academic journey at the University of Minnesota and enrolled in a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD program in Mathematics, which they are expected to complete in 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Tong Shi also obtained several certifications. They successfully passed the CFA Exam Level 1 in 2016, followed by the CFA Exam Level 2 in 2017, and the CFA Exam Level 3 in 2018, all conferred by the CFA Institute. They also passed the FRM Exam Part 1 in 2017 and the FRM Exam Part 2 in 2018, both granted by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP).
