Steve Porter

Steve Porter has a diverse range of work experience in marketing and leadership roles. Steve began their career as a Marketing Executive at First Direct and later worked as a Marketing Coordinator at N Brown Group. Steve then joined McCann Erickson as an Account Manager, managing campaigns for various clients.

Steve went on to work at Sage, where they held roles such as Marketing Campaign Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, and Head of Marketing for the Sage Accountants segment in the UK & Ireland. During their time at Sage, Steve led teams, achieved financial objectives, and played a key role in the company's global centralization plans.

After their tenure at Sage, Steve worked at BrightHR as Head of Digital and later as Head of Marketing. Steve played a strategic role in integrating digital, web, PR, brand, events, and product marketing and contributed to the development of a beta program for new product features.

Steve then joined Secarma Ltd as Marketing Director, where they implemented and integrated a new marketing function. Steve also advised on Sales and Operational processes and drove a global B2B Enterprise marketing strategy.

Before their current role, Steve served as a Marketing Consultant at Shearwater Group plc, where they served as Group Marketing Director and led GTM strategies and post-merger integration for five newly acquired businesses. Steve implemented a central marketing function and introduced guidelines and standardization for brand, comms, web, SEO, and analytics.

Currently, Steve is the Marketing Director for UK & Southern Europe at SD Worx. Steve has been responsible for launching the SD Worx brand in Spain, driving post-merger integration, and leading the UK field marketing team.

Steve Porter obtained their Full Stack Web Development Certification from freeCodeCamp in 2020. Prior to that, they attended The University of Manchester from 1998 to 2001, where they obtained a 2:1 degree in English & Writing. Steve completed their A Levels at Westlands High School from 1989 to 1996. In addition, they hold certifications in Content Marketing and Inbound Marketing from HubSpot, which they obtained in January 2019.
