Kate Hickey currently serves as the Senior Manager of Strategic Policy & Industry Insights at Screen Australia, a position held since May 2020, where responsibilities include leading the strategic policy, research, and marketplace teams. Prior to this, Kate was the Director of Partnerships & Policy at Create NSW from March 2017 to May 2020, overseeing various teams including Policy, Research & Evaluation. Kate also held the role of Senior Manager for Strategic Policy at Arts NSW for a brief period in 2016. A significant tenure at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation from 2004 to 2015 included positions such as Manager Content Governance and Editorial Policy Advisor, providing expert editorial policy and classification training. Earlier career experience includes managing the film development administration at the Australian Film Commission from 1997 to 2003 and serving as an Interactive Media Assistant. Academic qualifications comprise a Graduate Diploma in Arts Management from the University of Technology Sydney and a Bachelor's degree in Arts from the University of Sydney.
