Kai-yuh Hsiao is a Technical Director for Autonomous Systems at Scientific Systems, where responsibilities include managing a research group, setting research directions, writing proposals, engaging with customers, and leading engineering teams in the development of AI/robotics software algorithms, particularly focused on multi-vehicle collaborative unmanned vehicle autonomy and mission planning. Previously, Kai-yuh Hsiao served as a Research Assistant and Graduate Student at the MIT Media Lab from 1995 to 2008, including a postdoctoral position in the Personal Robots Group under Cynthia Breazeal and work in the Cognitive Machines Group under Deb Roy. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Media Arts and Sciences, along with a B.S. and M.Eng. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, all from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
