Maria Dawes is an experienced educational leader currently serving as CEO of Schools Alliance for Excellence since April 2019. Previously, Maria held the position of Regional School's Commissioner (Interim) and Deputy Director at the Department for Education in South-East South London from June 2016 to April 2019. Prior to that, Maria was Head of School Effectiveness at Babcock International Group from October 2012 to June 2016 and served as Principal Officer at Ofsted between September 2006 and October 2012. Maria holds a Master of Arts in Education Management from the University of Southampton and a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Leeds.
