Carrie Olshan has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Carrie began their career in 1998 as a Research and Administrative Assistant at Saatchi & Saatchi. In 2000, they transitioned into the field of education and worked as a Special Education Teacher for the NYC Department of Education for a decade. In 2010, Carrie became the Owner and Designer of Barrington Blue, a position they held until 2015. Carrie then joined KIPP SoCal Public Schools, where they served in various roles, including Lead Education Specialist/Case Manager, Special Education Program Specialist, Associate Director of Special Education, and Interim Director of Special Education. Currently, Carrie is the Director of Special Education at KIPP SoCal Public Schools. Additionally, they also work as a Program Supervisor at Alder Graduate School of Education since 2021.
Carrie Olshan attended Purchase College, SUNY from 1995 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Literature. Carrie then pursued further education at Touro University, where they earned a Master's Degree in Special Education/General Education. In addition to their degrees, Carrie Olshan also obtained several certifications, including Autism Authorization from the California Department of Education, an Ed Specialist, Clear Credential from the California Department of Education, NCI Instructor certification from the Crisis Prevention Institute, and Safety Care Crisis Prevention certification from QBS, Inc.
