Joel Federman is the current Chair of the Department of Transformative Social Change at Saybrook University. Joel was previously the Co-Director of the Center for Communication and Social Policy at University of California, Santa Barbara from June 1996 to September 1999.

Joel Federman has a Ph.D. and an M.A. in Political Science from the University of Southern California, and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

They work with Tom L. Hayashi - Chair, Department of Leadership & Management, Theopia Jackson - Chair, Department of Humanistic & Clinical Psychology, and Israel Espinosa - Chair, Department of Humanistic Psychology. Joel Federman reports to Charlotte Hamilton, Dean, College of Social Sciences.
