Espen Bugge Pettersen started their work experience in 2002 at Sandefjord Fotball as a soccer player. Espen then moved on to Molde FK in 2010 before joining Strømsgodset IF in 2015 as a soccer player. In 2019, they returned to Sandefjord Fotball as the CEO.

Espen Bugge Pettersen obtained a Bachelor's degree in business and management from the University of South-Eastern Norway between 2001 and 2006. Espen'sfield of study was focused on administration and leadership, which lasted for a period of four years.
