Catherine Borders has extensive experience in Human Resources and Staffing, having worked in the field since 1984. Catherine began their career as Human Resources and Staffing/Recruiting Manager at Seiko Instruments USA, Inc., where they created and implemented a cross-divisional compensation and succession planning program. Catherine then moved to Wisconsin to become Human Resources and Staffing/Recruiting Manager at Trek Bicycle Corporation, where they established a staffing function, compensation management system, HRIS, safety function, management training and development programs, employee communication programs, employee handbook, and management policy manual.
In 1991, Borders began working at Sony Electronics Professional Solutions of America as Human Resources and Staffing Manager. During their tenure, they ensured corporate compensation and benefit programs met the needs of the business group, and implemented performance-based compensation programs nationwide. Catherine then moved to Radiomail as Director of Human Resources and Staffing, where they initiated Human Resources and Staffing functions and acted as liaison to their major investor, Motorola.
In 2000, Borders became Director of Human Resources and Recruiting at 2-Wire, Inc., where they grew the company from 200 to 400 employees in one year and evaluated and deployed an HRIS system. Catherine then worked as a Staffing and Human Resources Management Consultant at C&E Enterprises, where they recruited candidates for numerous organizations throughout the United States.
Most recently, Borders has been Head of Human Resources and Staffing at Sail Internet since 2020. In this role, they have created best-practices Human Resources and Staffing functions for the fast-growing ISP start-up, including establishing ATS, building compensation programs from the ground-up, collaborating with e-staff to build organizational programs/goals, reworking and upgrading benefits programs, establishing immigration and international HR options, writing/publishing the company's first employee handbook and IIPP, creating safety programs for a growing hourly workforce, enhancing onboarding and offboarding processes, employee relations, organizational development, and management training.
Catherine Borders attended the University of Houston, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Business.
