Megan Burns, MPA has over 20 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, and project management. Megan began their career in 1992 as an Advertising Manager & Marketing Director at the Sun Sentinel Media Group, where they were responsible for all revenue from an arts & entertainment publication. Megan then held the role of Marketing Outreach Coordinator and Territory Sales Executive at the same company. In 2000, they became an Advertising Project Consultant at The Morning Call, where they conducted a feasibility study for a proposed entertainment publication. From 2001 to 2007, they were a Program Director at William & Mary, where they led the Center for Corporate Education within the School of Business. In 2007, they became an Auditing Project Consultant at Gannett | USA TODAY NETWORK, where they coordinated contacts with USA Weekend clients in large-scale circulation audit. From 2008 to 2020, they worked as a Freelance Marketer, Project Leader, and Community Organizer. In 2020, they became a Project & People Manager at IVORY COAST MANAGEMENT, LLC / McDonald's, where they managed all internal and external communications, including employee messaging and policy development, customer relations, and community outreach. Currently, they are the Director of Custom Publishing & Special Projects at SagaCity Media.
Megan Burns, MPA, has an education history consisting of a Bachelor of Science in Advertising from the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications (1987-1991) and a Master of Public Administration from Florida Atlantic University (1992-1995), with a focus on Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management.
