James Banasik is an experienced professional in the field of risk assessment and meteorology, currently serving as the Head of Connected Risk at Russell Group Limited since October 2022. Banasik specializes in integrating climate and weather considerations into risk management across various business sectors, and is developing a quantifiable Environmental Social Governance (ESG) methodology for risk assessment. Previously, Banasik held the position of Chief Executive Officer at MetSwift from February 2016 to July 2022, where proprietary AI technology was utilized to provide instantaneous risk probabilities based on extensive weather data. Banasik's earlier roles include Managing Director and Head of Client Services at Delphi Group and Delphi Weather Analytics, focusing on the application of weather data and AI to enhance decision-making for clients. Banasik holds a Master’s Degree in Meteorology from the University of Reading and is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Oceanography at the University of Plymouth.
