Salman Guraya has extensive work experience in the field of surgery and medical education. Salman started their career as a Professor of Surgery and Vice Dean of the College of Medicine at the University of Sharjah in 2017. In the same year, they also held the role of Director of Surgical Education and Training Courses at The Royal College of Surgeons of England.
In 2022, Guraya joined the University of East Anglia as the Co-Director of the Masterclass MSc Coloproctology and Emergency Surgery program. Prior to these positions, they worked at Taibah University as a Professor of Surgery and Consultant Surgeon from 2006 to 2017.
Salman Guraya has a comprehensive education history in the field of medical education and surgery. Salman completed their Masters, PG Diploma, and PG Certificate in Medical Education at the University of Dundee from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that, from 1996 to 2000, they pursued a Post FRCS degree in the General Surgery Residency Program at the University of Leicester. Additionally, they earned an FRCS degree in Surgery from The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow UK between 1991 and 1996. Currently, Salman is pursuing a Fellowship European Board of Surgery (Hon) from the UNION EUROPÉENNE DES MÉDECINS SPÉCIALISTES, which began in 2022. In 2015, they also obtained a Diploma in Laparoscopic Surgery from IRCAD University of Strasbourg in France.
