Javier "Harvey" Salas is the County Commissioner District 2 was appointed to the Governing Board effective May 2020.

Mr. Salas was born in Santa Rita, NM, and enlisted in the U.S. Army immediately following graduation from Cobre High School. After an honorable discharge in 1974, he graduated from Western New Mexico University with degrees in criminal justice, psychology, and a masters in counseling and educational leadership. He has been married to Estella Ortiz for 46 years and has 3 children: Cruz, Laura, and Javier Salas.
