Mathew Sewell

ATLS Course Director And Instructor at ROYAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS OF ENGLAND

Mathew Sewell has extensive work experience in the medical field, with a focus on spinal surgery. Mathew is currently employed as a Consultant Spinal Surgeon at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Additionally, Mathew has served as an ATLS course Director and Instructor at The Royal College of Surgeons of England, teaching doctors and nurses trauma skills required for patient care. Mathew has also held positions as a Senior Lecturer in Health Leadership at Aston Medical School and an Academic Clinical Lecturer at The University of Queensland. Mathew has actively contributed to the medical community by participating in various roles, including as an Accident and Emergency Doctor treating COVID-19 and as a Paediatric and Adult Spinal Surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust. Mathew has also utilized their medical expertise as an Adventure Medicine doctor at Action Challenge and as a Training, Education, and Recruitment Faculty member at The Nightingale Hospital London during the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, Mathew has served as a European Commission Research and Innovation Listed Expert and a Consultant Paediatric and Adult Spinal Surgeon at South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Mathew Sewell's education history is as follows:

Mathew attended Lancaster Royal Grammar School from 1995 to 1998. Mathew then enrolled at the University of Bristol from 1998 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience. During the same period, they also pursued a degree in Medicine (MB ChB) at the University of Bristol.

In 2011, Mathew began their postgraduate studies at UCL, where they completed a Doctor of Medicine degree with a specialization in Complex scoliosis correction in children. This program lasted from 2011 to 2017.

Furthermore, in 2014, Mathew obtained a certification in CCT Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery from the General Medical Council. In 2013, they also received the FRCS certification from The Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Lastly, Mathew joined the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School in 2018 and completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 2020. However, the field of study for their MBA is not specified.
